Plants small, 50-120 mm high. Corm ovoid, 5-7 mm diam.; tunics concentric, firm textured, light brown. Stem ± erect, minutely and densely ciliate above uppermost leaf, rarely branched. Leaves 3, lower 2 basal, erect, sword-shaped to falcate, lowermost ± as long as stem, 1.5-3.5 mm wide, often slightly sticky below and on sheath, with sand adhering, margins and midrib enlarged; with 2 broad grooves on each surface, margins and edges of main vein evidently smooth (rarely sparsely and minutely ciliate), uppermost leaf cauline, smallest. Spike flexuose, 1-to 3-flowered; bracts green, membranous above, 6-9 mm long, inner 1-2 mm shorter than outer. Flowers actinomorphic, rotate, white; perianth tube 2-3 mm long, not reaching apex of bracts; tepals narrowly obovate-elliptic, 8-10 x ± 4 mm. Filaments equal, erect, ± 4 mm long; anthers 2-3 mm long, yellow. Style dividing opposite apex of anthers, branches ± 2 mm long.
