Plants 120-200 mm high. Corm ± globose, with oblique flattened base, 12-16 mm diam.; tunics woody, brown, concentric, breaking vertically into irregular section, drawn into points above. Stem inclined, flexed above sheath of uppermost leaf and at base of spike, occasionally with short branch. Leaves 2 or 3, lowermost basal, longest, up to 280 mm long, linear to narrowly sword-shaped, sticky on sheath, margins and main vein with sand adhering, margins expanded at right angles to blade, main vein also raised and winged, thus broadly 2-grooved on each surface, remaining leaves short, sheathing for half their length, uppermost inserted in middle of stem. Spike inclined to ± horizontal, flexuose, (2-)4-to 9-flowered; outer bracts (14-)16-25 mm long, green, inner membranous, ± half as long. Flowers zygomorphic, stamens and style unilateral and declinate, tepals white with pale pink veins, turning pink on fading; perianth tube cylindric, 14-20(-25) mm long, shortly exserted from bracts; tepals ± linear, 17-27 x (5-)7-9 mm, outer wider and shorter than inner. Filaments unilateral, declinate, equal, 10-15 mm long; anthers parallel, 4-6 mm long, dark purple. Style arching below filaments, dividing near apex of anthers, branches 2-3 mm long. Capsules ellipsoid to narrowly obovoid, 12-18 mm long.
