Characteristics

Plants small, 50-80 mm high. Corm bell-shaped with flat base, 4-6 mm diam.; tunics medium brown, concentric, lower margins minutely serrated. Stem erect, simple or branched from upper leaves. Leaves usually 4, lower 2 or 3 basal, linear-filiform, ± erect, 0.8-1.1 mm wide, plane, upper 1 or 2 leaves cauline, sheathing part inflated. Spike 1-flowered; bracts pale green with hyaline margin, becoming dry above, 7-11 mm long. Flowers actinomorphic, cup-like, clear yellow; perianth tube ± 4 mm long, included in bracts; tepals obovate, 13-25 x 4-7 mm. Filaments erect, equal, 7-10 mm long; anthers 4-5 mm long, yellow; pollen yellow. Style dividing between middle and apex of anthers, branches ± 4 mm long.
