Plants 150-300 mm high. Corm globose, slightly flattened on one side, 5-9 mm diam.; tunics of fine, pale, netted fibres, sometimes with papery, fragmented layers between, fibres usually extending upward in collar. Stem rarely branched. Leaves (2)3, lowermost basal, longest, linear, 2-3 mm wide, margins and main vein much thickened and with 2 narrow grooves on each surface, second leaf inserted near ground level, sheathing lower part of stem for a short distance, uppermost leaf short, inserted in middle of stem, partly to entirely sheathing. Spike flexuose, 1-to 5-flowered; bracts ± 10 mm long, green, reddish above, often with translucent tips, inner shorter and narrower than outer. Flowers actinomorphic, salver-shaped, nodding, tepals spreading at right angles to tube, rose-pink; perianth tube cylindric, mostly 12-18 mm long, well-exserted from bracts when fully open; tepals oblanceolate-elliptic, 17-22 x 8-9 mm. Filaments 8-12 mm long; anthers 5-6 mm long, yellow. Style dividing beyond anther tips, branches 3-4 mm long.
