Characteristics

Plants 35-100 mm high. Corm unknown. Stem erect, pubescent, simple or rarely with a single short branch. Leaves 3, all basal or uppermost inserted on stem shortly above ground level, ± plane, falcate to trailing, lower 2 longest, exceeding stem, sublinear to narrowly sword-shaped, 1.5-4.0 mm wide, margins and main vein winged with marginal wings held at right angles to blade, wing edges prominently ciliate. Spike mostly 2-to 5-flowered, branch when present 1-or 2-flowered; bracts dry and brown in distal half, outer 7-8(-10) mm long, inner slightly shorter, 2-veined to 2-keeled, notched at apex. Flowers actinomorphic, rotate, white to pale pink, outer tepals pink to light purple outside, unscented; perianth tube funnel-shaped, 1.5-2.0 mm long; tepals 7-8 x 2-3 mm, spreading. Filaments suberect, unequal, two longer ± 3 mm long, shorter one ± 2 mm long; anthers 3.3-4.0 mm long. Style evidently erect, dividing opposite middle of anthers, branches 1.3-1.8 mm long.
