Plants (100-)150-300 mm high. Corm globose, asymmetric, ± flattened on one side and extending down-ward, 7-10 mm diam.; tunics woody, brown, concentric, fragmenting irregularly, drawn into short cusps above. Stem ± erect, slender, usually unbranched. Leaves usually 3, ± terete, sticky on sheaths and sometimes on blades, margins expanded into wings raised at right angles to blade and curving inward (appearing terete with 2 narrow grooves on each surface), main vein hardly thickened, lowermost leaf longest, basal, reaching to base of spike, second leaf also basal, sheathing lower 1/3 of stem, uppermost leaf inserted on upper 1/3 of stem, sheathing for ± 2/3 of its length, often entirely sheathing. Spike (1)2-to 5-flowered; outer bract green, (20-)30-40(-50) mm long, inner membranous, half as long as outer. Flowers zygomorphic with stamens and style declinate, white to pale pink, flushed pink outside; perianth tube cylindric, (20-)30-40(-50) mm long, reaching to apex of bracts or exserted up to 15(-25) mm; tepals oblong to ± linear, acute, 13-23 x 2.0-4.5 mm. Filaments unilateral, declinate, equal, ± 14 mm long; anthers (2.5-)3.5-4.5 mm long, purple; pollen yellow. Style arching below filaments, dividing near apex of anthers, branches ± 3 mm long. Capsules ± cylindric, 12-20 mm long, enclosed in bracts.
