Characteristics

Leaves linear, the apex more or less rolled in like a watch-spring, both surfaces villous from closely set simple hairs. Style projecting beyond the anthers for the length of the filament. Berry clavate, yellow when ripe, 2 inches long and two-fifth of an inch in diameter, the apex red.
