Characteristics

Bulbous geophyte, ± 50-80 mm tall, solitary. Leaves 3-8, dry at flowering, spreading, slightly curled, both surfaces covered with silver, parallel-armed, scale-like hairs clustered together length-wise in groups of 5 or more and centrally affixed to a dark red tubercle. Flower salver-shaped, white to pale pink.

Bulbous geophyte to 5 cm. Leaves 3-8, dry at flowering, spreading, narrowly strap-shaped, slightly curled, covered with silver, scale-like hairs centrally fixed to a dark red tubercle. Flower with spreading tepals, white to pale pink, stamens 6, style curved sideways.
Leaves few, linear, spreading, the surface and margin beset with narrow scales lacerate at both ends, each attached in the centre to a red tubercle, some of the tubercles without scales.
