Characteristics

Flowers pink, the lower tepals evidently without markings; perianth tube c. 15 mm long, obliquely and narrowly funnel-shaped, the lower cylindrical part 6 mm long, curving outwards between the bracts; tepals subequal, 18–20 × c. 8 mm, lanceolate, all similarly oriented, directed forwards and curving outwards distally.

Foliage leaves 5–6, the lower 3–4 basal and longer than the others, usually slightly exceeding the spike, (2)3–4 mm wide, linear (narrowly lanceolate), the margins and midrib not thickened, the upper 2 leaves cauline narrower and shorter than the basal leaves.
Spike 3–6-flowered, internodes 10–15 mm long; bracts green, sometimes flushed purple above, 15–20(25) mm long, attenuate, imbricate, 1.5–2 internodes in length, the inner about half as long as the outer.
Filaments c. 11 mm long, usually shortly exserted from the mouth of the tube; anthers c. 6.5 mm long, unilateral, with short acute apicula c. 0.4 mm long.
Style dividing opposite the anther apices, style branches 4–5 mm long, extending beyond the anthers.
Corms 14–25 mm in diameter; tunics of coarse fibres.
Plants 15–25(40) cm high.
Stems unbranched.
