Characteristics

Plants villous to pubescent on cataphylls, leaf sheaths, often blades, and stems and bracts. Leaves usually reaching to ± base of spike, lanceolate to sword-shaped, 8-16 mm wide, margins, main and other veins lightly to moderately thickened. Flowers usually yellowish green, irregularly flecked or streaked with purple, sometimes creamy yellow or green, rarely reddish, lower tepals with cream-coloured nectar guides in lower half.
