Leaves shortly petiolate; lamina ovate to elliptic, or somewhat cordate, margin entire, obtuse or shortly acuminate, 20–110 mm long, 15–75 mm wide, coriaceous or subcoriaceous, adaxial surface semiglossy green, abaxial surface dull pale green, glabrous; petiole slender, puberulous, 2–10 mm long. Inflorescence thyrsoid, 30–110 mm long, 40–120 mm wide. Flowers with sweet scent, pedicellate, bracteate, congested; pedicels hoary-pubescent, non-glandular, 1–3 mm long; bracts sessile, oblong to lanceolate, hoary-pubescent, c. 1 mm long.
