Plant 2-8 in. high, woody; branches straight, slender, pubescent; leaves opposite, elliptic-oblong, acute, 3.5 lin. long, 3/4 lin. wide, glabrous; flowers solitary at the apex of the branches; calyx adpressed-silky outside; tube 2.5 lin. long, ovoid below, funnel-shaped above; lobes elliptic, 1.5 lin. long, 3/4 lin. wide, acute; petals 8, minute, much smaller than the anthers; anthers oblong, 1/3 lin. long, obtuse; ovary compressed, glabrous; style excentric, filiform, nearly as long as the calyx-tube; stigma penicillate.
