Characteristics

Perennial, dwarf shrub, 0.15-0.50 m high; many stemmed, robust. Leaves alternate, congested, sessile, lanceolate, subacute, coriaceous, glabrous. Flowers solitary in leaf axils. Hypanthium pale yellow-brown, pilose outside; tube funnel-shaped, 5 mm long, 2 mm in diam.; sepals 4, broadly ovate. Petaloid floral glands 4, somewhat succulent, depressed-ovate, emarginate. Stamens 4, orientated 0.5 mm below floral glands, filaments minute. Anthers narrowly oblong. Ovary ellipsoid, upper part pilose, unilocular with 1 ovule. Style filiform, 2 mm long. Stigma capitate, papillose.
