Shrub or tree, 2–6(–10) m. tall.. Branchlets with short ± appressed hairs at tips, glabrescent below.. Leaf-blades oblanceolate to obovate, apex elongately and acutely acuminate, often a little curved, base gradually cuneate, papyraceous, glabrous except some hairs on midrib and nerves beneath, entire or shallowly undulate, 8–25 cm. long, 3.5–5(–7.5) cm. broad; lateral nerves 8–12 pairs, curved-ascending, looping before the edge, a little prominent beneath; petiole pubescent initially, 0.7–2(–2.5) cm. long; stipules subulate, pubescent, finally caducous, 6–7 mm. long.. Racemes spike-like from the upper axils, few-flowered, 0.5–2.5 cm. long, shortly hairy all over; pedicel of the terminal bisexual flower 5(–7) mm., of the lower ♂ ones 1–2 mm.. Sepals suborbicular, pale green, (2–)3 mm. in diameter.. Petals ovate-elliptic, glabrous, membranous, whitish or yellowish, (3–)4–5 mm. long, 2–3 mm. broad..
