Scandent shrub; young stems densely ferruginous pubescent.. Leaves ovate to ovate-oblong or obovate, 2.7–4.8 cm long, 1.4–3.9 cm wide, rounded to acute or broadly acuminate at the apex, slightly cordate at the base, margin serrate, lamina bullate, sparsely stellate-pubescent to glabrescent above, stellate-pubescent to sparsely so beneath; petiole 2–3 mm long; stipules caducous.. Inflorescence a 3-flowered cyme, 1–2 in a leaf-axil, covered with long ferruginous pubescence; peduncle 6–7 mm long.. Flowers yellow; sepals up to 9 mm in bud, linear, ± 15 mm long, ± 2 mm wide; petals linear, ± 11 mm long, ± 1 mm wide, brownish red outside.. Androgynophore ± 1 mm long, glabrous.. Fruit globose, 2-locular, densely stellate-pubescent.. Fig. 3/30 (leaf, p. 9).
