A small shrub. It has a woody rootstock and long branches arise from this. It is similar to Grewia villosa.
Bracts up to 10 mm. long, narrowly lanceolate to linear-lanceolate or sometimes bifid, pubescent.
Very like G. villosa Willd. but with long virgate branches arising from a woody rootstock.
Stipules linear or filiform, somewhat keeled and up to 13 mm. long.
Flowers smaller than in G. villosa and more per inflorescence.
Stigma-lobes broad and flat with toothed or lobed margins.
Otherwise as in G. villosa.
