Leaves coriaceous, glabrous, shiny above, ovate, elliptic-lanceolate, ovate-lanceolate, rhomboid-lanceolate, base obtuse to rounded, apex acute, margins Sub-Entire. Inflorescences leaf-opposed; peduncles up to 10 mm long, glabrous. Flowers ± 15 mm long, pink. Sepals linear-oblong, up to 15 mm long, greenish outside, pink inside. Petals shorter than sepals. Androgynophore with basal glabrous portion of ± 1 mm long, prolonged into densely pubescent portion up to 1.5 mm long. Flowering time Dec.-May. Fruit brown to blackish, shining, ± 15 mm in diam., 4-lobed, somewhat fleshy.
