Leaves oblong to oblong-ovate, 6.5–13 cm long, 3–8.5 cm wide, obtuse to broadly acuminate at the apex, margin serrate, sparsely dotted with stellate hairs above, slightly denser beneath, feeling sandpapery; petiole 4–10 mm long, stellate-pubescent.. Inflorescence a 1–3-flowered cyme, 1–2 in a leaf-axil; peduncle up to 4 mm long; pedicels 5–13 mm long, densely pubescent to glabrescent with pale lenticels.. Flowers yellow to orange-yellow; sepals 17–22 mm long, yellow inside, rarely with a purple tinge, green-brown outside; petals 11–16 mm long, yellow to off-white.. Androgynophore 1–2 mm long, cup-shaped, glabrous.. Stamens 10–14 mm long.. Ovary ± 3 mm long, densely hairy; style 10–12 mm long, glabrous..
