Characteristics

A shrub or small tree. They grow to 5 m tall. The crown is rounded. There are many branches growing from the base. The young branches are covered with red hairs. The leaves are large. Fruit yellowish, normally very deeply 2-lobed, each lobe c. 7·5 mm. in diam., sparsely stellately pilose.
Sepals 10–13 mm. long, narrowly oblong, with a tufted stellate tomentum on the back, glabrous inside.
Ovary densely pilose, 2-lobed; style up to 10 mm. long, glabrous, with c. 4 broad stigmatic lobes.
Androgynophore 1·5 mm. long, glabrous except at the villous apex, not elongated above the node.
