Grewia subspathulata N.E.Br.

Species

Angiosperms > Malvales > Malvaceae > Grewia

Characteristics

This species has a rather greyish, short pubescence like that of G. bicolor but a leaf-shape quite unlike the elliptic-oblong or lanceolate leaves of that species and agreeing instead with G. monticola. Its leaves are asymmetrically cordate and oblong-ovate to ovate, sometimes broadest in the upper half. The leaf-texture is not so thin as in G. bicolor, nor so leathery as in G. monticola. In all respects it seems morphologically to be about halfway between G. monticola and G. bicolor.
