Characteristics

Shrub to 3 m tall; young branches densely stellate-pubescent.. Leaves oblong to elliptic-oblong or slightly obovate-oblong, 1.1–4.5 cm long, 0.5–2 cm wide, broadly obtuse to rounded at the apex, rounded at the base, sometimes slightly asymmetric, margin serrate, minutely stellate-pubescent above, stellate-pubescent beneath and ± concolorous or slightly greyish green; petiole 1–2 mm long, densely stellate-pubescent; stipules linear, 2–3 mm long.. Inflorescence a (1–)3-flowered cyme, solitary in a leaf-axil; peduncle 2–5 mm long; pedicels 2–6 mm long.. Flowers yellow; sepals 6–8 mm long; petals oblong, 3–5 mm long.. Androgynophore ± 1 mm long, glabrous, densely hairy at the apex.. Stamens ± 4 mm long; filaments yellow; anthers orange.. Ovary ± 1.5 mm long, densely hairy; style ± 4 mm long.. Fruit 2-lobed, or unlobed by abortion, the lobes 3–4 mm long, 3–4 mm wide, sparsely hairy.. Fig. 4/45 (leaf, p. 11).
