Characteristics

Plants in dense, yellowish green tufts, somewhat hoary. Stems up to 20 mm long. Leaves curved when dry, unistratose to partly bistratose above; ovate-lanceolate, sharply keeled above; apex long-acuminate; margins unequally recurved on both sides; costa weak at base, projecting on dorsal side, awn short, slightly denticulate. Upper laminal cells short-rectangular, conspicuously sinuose, incrassate; basal marginal cells rectangular, hyaline, thin-walled; basal juxtacostal cells yellowish, elongate, incrassate. Capsules exserted, globose to ovoid, smooth, seta acuate; operculum conical with short obtuse beak.
