Characteristics

Tree to 20 m high. Branchlets, leaf axes and peduncles appressed pubescent or puberulent. Leaf rachis 1.5–2.5 cm long; leaflets 1 or 2 pairs, occasionally 3, usually elliptic, acute or acuminate, apiculate, entire, slightly recurved, 4–10 cm long, 1.5–4 cm wide, coriaceous, coarsely prominently reticulate; lower surface pale, puberulent; petiolules 2–10 mm long; petiole 1–2.5 cm long. Panicles axillary, 3–12 cm long, to 7 cm wide, laxly flowered; pedicels 4 mm long. Calyx lobes 2.5–3.5 mm long, 1.5–2.5 mm wide. Petals as long as calyx; scales linear, crested. Disc complete. Capsule 1.2–1.6 cm long, 2–2.5 cm diam.
