Characteristics

Tree to 25 m high; young parts, branchlets, leaf axes and peduncles finely appressed-pubescent. Leaf rachis 1–5.5 cm long; leaflets 1 or 2 pairs, occasionally 3, obovate-elliptic or elliptic, obtuse, apiculate, entire, 4.5–8.5 cm long, 1.5–3 cm wide, glaucous and puberulous below; petiolules 2–4 mm long; petiole 1–3 cm long. Panicles slender, axillary, to 15 cm long and wide, densely flowered; pedicels 2 mm long. Calyx lobes 1.5–2.5 mm long and wide. Petals as long as calyx, crested. Disc complete or incomplete. Capsule reddish pink, 6–10 mm long, 10–13 mm diam. Aril yellow, long-tailed.
