Phyllaries scarious with ± broad subhyaline margins, pilose-puberulous outside, from c. 2 mm. long and lanceolate outside to c. 4.5 mm. long and broadly oblanceolate inside, apices incurved not sharply bristle-ripped.
Stems trailing-ascending, branched, leafy, often with leaf whorls in axils of mature leaves, angular-ribbed, appressed pilose-pubescent; indumentum of short-stalked long-armed T-shaped hairs.
Capitula small, numerous, in many 3–9-capitulate clusters corymbiform-cymose on branches 2–6 cm. long; capitula stalks 1–5 mm. long, puberulous.
Achenes brown, c. 2 mm. long, oblong-obovoid, terete, minutely roughly pubescent all over and globose-glandular; pappus 0.
Corollas purple, 3–6 mm. long, narrowly funnel-shaped, densely pilose-tomentellous.
Involucres 3–5 x 4–6 mm., broadly cyathiform to globose.
A procumbent perennial (? annual) herb.
