Characteristics

Erect or decumbent shrub, up to 1.2 m high. Leaves opposite, bases connate and sheathing, blades simple or 1-3x dichotomously forked, lobes narrowly linear, glabrous to thinly or densely villous. Capitula discoid, small, in dense, terminal corymbs; involucre broadly campanulate; bracts in few rows, ciliate. Disc florets bisexual, corolla yellow, tubular below, campanulate above, glandular, with 5 ovate lobes. Flowering time (Aug.) Dec.-June. Pappus absent. Cypselae ± cylindric, 10-ribbed, long-papillose.
