Leaves fleshy, narrowly rhomboid to linear, 4–20 cm long, 0.4–4 cm wide, attenuate to a rounded base, sagittate or amplexicaul, margins shallowly dentate, the teeth fewer towards the apex, some teeth pointing backwards, apex attenuate, pubescent.. Capitula 3–9, in terminal corymbs, with many florets; involucre campanulate or infundibuliform, (8–)11–16 mm long; bracts of calyculus 3–8 mm long; phyllaries 13–14, reddish green, (8–)11–16 mm long, pubescent.. Florets orange to red, (9–)11–15 mm long, expanded in upper part, lobes 1–1.2 mm long.. Achenes 2.5–3 mm long, glabrous; pappus 8–13 mm long.
