Characteristics

Pyramidal shrub to 1.5 m with several stems. Branchlets angular when dried. Leaves rather crowded, erect, narrowly linear-terete, acuminate, somewhat uncinate, 15–30 mm long; stipules triangular, 0.5–1 mm long, somewhat viscid, pale. Flowers in many axillary racemes of up to 6 flowers; bracts lanceolate-ovate, c. 0.5 mm long; stipule-like bracteoles present. Male flowers; pedicels 1–2 mm long; calyx 1 mm long, divided to c. ⅓ into broadly triangular lobes; stamens 7–9; disc small, convex, rather irregular. Female flowers: pedicels 1–2 mm long, recurved; calyx 0.5–0.7 mm long, divided to c. ½ into triangular lobes; carpels 4–7, rounded; stigmas 0.5 mm long, thick, somewhat papillose. Fruit not seen.
