Characteristics

Lip 3-lobed with a basal, undivided part 2–3 mm long; mid-lobe linear, 15–20 mm long, less than 1 mm wide; side lobes 30–45 mm long, filiform; all lobes pendent; spur 8.5–21.5 cm long, slender or somewhat sigmoid.

Petals 2-lobed ± to base, both lobes filiform, less than 1 mm wide at base; posterior lobe 11–14 mm long, ± adnate to dorsal sepal; anterior lobe 30–40 mm long, deflexed or spreading.
Basal leaves appressed to the ground, the larger 12–18 × 17.5 × 25 cm, ovate to reniform, cordate at base, apiculate or rounded, rather fleshy; stem-leaves c. 3 cm long.
Dorsal sepal erect, 11–16 × 5–8 mm, ovate, convex, acuminate, the tip sometimes slightly reflexed; lateral sepals reflexed, 13–17 × 4–7 mm, obliquely ovate, acuminate.
Stem erect, with 2 basal leaves and several bract-like stem leaves along its length.
Inflorescence 16–30 × 7–12 cm, densely 10-to many-flowered; bracts 15–30 mm long.
Terrestrial herb up to 80 cm tall; tubers up to 5 cm long, ovoid or ellipsoid.
Anther 6–9 mm high, erect, apiculate; canals 3.5–5 mm long, upcurved.
Stigmatic arms 5.5–10 mm long, porrect, club-shaped, truncate at tip.
