Characteristics

Lip 3-lobed to c. 1 mm from base, all lobes 12–17 mm long, barely 1 mm wide, narrowly linear, acute; spur 16–23 mm long, slender but very swollen in the apical 5 mm, parallel to the pedicel and ovary and tucked into the bracts.

Petals 2-lobed almost to base; upper lobe c. 4 × 0.5 mm, narrowly linear, erect; lower lobes curving sideways and up, 14–18 mm long, c. 1 mm wide at base, becoming filiform.
Dorsal sepal 4–5 × 1–3 mm, ovate, erect; lateral sepals reflexed, oblique with a lateral apiculum, 6–8 × 3–4.5 mm, usually rather brown and withered by flowering time.
Stem leafy; leaves 7–8, the lowest 3 ± sheathing, the upper ones grading into the bracts, the middle ones semi-erect, 5–15 cm long and × 4–19 mm wide, linear.
Inflorescence 9–13 × 3–5 cm, fairly densely several-to many-flowered; bracts leafy, to 25 × 10 mm.
Stigmatic arms 4–5.5 mm long, projecting forwards but diverging, truncate at apex, pubescent.
Rostellum mid-lobe 3 mm long, side lobes 4–5 mm long, pubescent, lying above stigmatic arms.
Pedicel and ovary erect, pedicel 15–16 mm long, ovary 8–10 mm.
Anther 2–4 mm tall; canals 4–5 mm long.
Slender terrestrial herb 25–40 cm high.
