Characteristics

Lip 3-lobed almost to base; mid-lobe 9–14 mm long, side lobes 6–12 mm long, all lobes linear, 0.5–1 mm wide; spur 1.5–2.5(3) cm long, somewhat swollen in apical half, ± parallel to pedicel and ovary.

Petals 2-lobed almost to base; upper lobe 4.5–7.5 × 0.5 mm, linear, recurved; lower lobes 9–14 × 1–2 mm, lanceolate, acute, spreading forwards and upwards, usually glabrous, rarely papillose.
Inflorescence 6–27 × 3–5 cm, fairly densely many-flowered; bracts 10–25 mm long, rather scarious at flowering time, the lower ones longer than the ovary and pedicel.
Stem leafy; leaves (4)8–16, the lowermost 1–3 sheathing, the upper ones grading into the bracts, the middle ones ± erect, the largest 10–15(37) × 0.5–1.5 cm, linear.
Dorsal sepal reflexed, 4.5–7.5 × 2–3 mm, elliptic; lateral sepals deflexed, 6.5–10 × 3–5 mm, obliquely semi-ovate with a lateral apiculum.
Flowers green or whitish in rather dense, many-flowered racemes up to 1 ft. long.
Stigmatic arms 3–6.5 mm long, porrect, slender but enlarged and truncate at apex.
Anther 2.5–4 mm high; canals 2.5–5.5 mm long.
Tubers 1–3 × 1 cm, ellipsoid or ovoid.
Rostellum mid-lobe c. 1.5 mm high.
Pedicel and ovary 16–21 mm long.
Flowers green, white in centre.
