Characteristics

Lip 3-lobed to 1–1.5 mm from base; mid-lobe 7–8.5 mm long; side lobes 4.5–5.5 mm long; all lobes linear, c. 1 mm wide; spur 13.5–20 mm long, inflated at apex, not twisted, usually tucked into bracts.

Petals 2-lobed almost to base, rather fleshy; upper lobe 4–5 × 0.5–1 mm, linear, erect, the 2 often crossing; lower lobe pendent, hinged, 6–7 × 1 mm, linear, the margin ciliate.
Inflorescence 10–15 × 2.5–4 cm, rather laxly several-to many-flowered; bracts 12–19 × 3–4 mm, glandular, often brown-tipped, often slightly longer than pedicel and ovary.
Stem leafy; leaves 3–7, the lowermost sheathing, the largest in the middle, 4–18 cm × 8–17 mm, linear or narrowly lanceolate; the uppermost grading into the bracts.
Sepals reflexed; dorsal sepal 4–5 × 1.5–2 cm, elliptic; lateral sepals 5.5–6.5 × 2.7–3 mm, obliquely obovate with a lateral apiculum.
Column 4–5 mm long; anther c. 2 mm long with sterile stalk c. 2.5 mm long; canals c. 1 mm long.
Stigmatic arms 2.5–3.5 mm long, porrect, truncate at apex; rostellum mid-lobe c. 1 mm long.
Flowers green, white in centre, smelling very unpleasant.
Tubers 1–2.5 × 1–1.2 cm, ovoid or ellipsoid.
