Erect, slender, palustrine or aquatic herbs up to about 1 m. tall. Leaves up to 20 cm. long and 0.5-2.3 cm. broad, linear-elliptic to elliptic-lanceolate, acute or acuminate, reduced to bracts. upward. Inflorescence a densely flowered raceme; flowers green. Dorsal sepals 4-7.5 mm. long and 3-5 mm. broad, oval to sub-orbicular-ovate, cochleate, apiculate. Lateral sepals 4-8 mm. long and 2-3 mm. broad, ovate to lanceolate-oval, oblique, apiculate. Petals 4-9 mm. long, bipartite, the lobes subequal; anterior lobe filiform; posterior lobe 1-2 mm. broad, linear-lanceolate to lanceolate, arcuate. Lip 5-10 mm. long and 1-2.5 mm. broad across the base, trilobate, the lobes subparallel; lateral lobes filiform; mid-lobe linear-lanceolate, usually a little shorter than-the laterals; spur 8-15 mm. long, slender.
