Characteristics

Lip pendent, 3-lobed almost to base; mid-lobe 12–14 × 1 mm, linear; side lobes 6–7 × 1.5–2 mm, curved linear-lanceolate; spur 13–19 mm long, parallel to pedicel and ovary, sometimes with 1 twist in middle, swollen in apical half, slightly flexuous.

Petals 2-lobed almost to base; upper lobe 6 × 0.5 mm, erect or recurved, papillose-pubescent; lower lobe deflexed, 7.5–9 ×3.5–4 mm, ovate-lanceolate, papillose-pubescent towards base.
Leaves 7–10, the lowermost 1–2 sheath-like, spotted with black, the next few 11–20 ×1–2 cm, linear or narrowly lanceolate; the uppermost leaves grading into the bracts.
Inflorescence 8–16 × 3–4 cm, fairly laxly or fairly densely several-to many-flowered; bracts to 20 mm long, sparsely hairy, much shorter than pedicel and ovary.
Dorsal sepal reflexed, c. 7 × 3 mm, elliptic; lateral sepals deflexed, 10–12 × 6 mm, obliquely obovate with a lateral apiculum.
Pedicel 20–25 mm long, straight, semi-erect; ovary 7–9 mm long, arched, papillose.
Robust terrestrial herb to 80 cm high; tubers small, ellipsoid.
Stigmatic arms porrect, 6 mm long, papillose-pubescent above.
Column 3 mm high; anther canals 7 mm long.
Rostellum mid-lobe c. 1.5 mm long.
