A terrestrial herb 2–8.5 dm. high, glabrous except for the roots and petals.. Tubers ovoid or ellipsoid, 1.5–3.5 cm. long, 0.75–1.5 cm. in diameter, ± densely tomentose.. Stem erect, slender to stout, leafy throughout its length.. Leaves 13–17, the lowermost 2–3 reduced to sheaths, whitish with green reticulate veins, the middle 8–10 ± erect or suberect, linear or very narrowly lanceolate, long tapering at the apex, the largest 10–14 cm. long, 0.5–1.7 cm. broad, the upper leaves adpressed to the stem, lanceolate, very acute, similar to the bracts.. Inflorescence 5–24 cm. long, 2.5–4 cm. in diameter, rather densely 8-to many-flowered.. Bracts thin in texture, lanceolate, acuminate, 1–2.5 cm. long, mostly longer than the pedicel with ovary.. Flowers curved outwards, green; pedicel with ovary curved, ±1.5 cm. long.. Dorsal sepal reflexed, narrowly elliptical, obtuse, ± 7 mm. long and 3.5 mm. broad; laterals deflexed, obliquely semi-orbicular with the apiculum to one side, ± 8 mm. long, 3.5–5.5 mm. broad.. Petals bipartite nearly to the base; posterior (upper) lobe ± recurved, broadly linear, obtuse, 6–8 mm. long, ± 1 mm. broad; anterior lobe lanceolate-oblong, obtuse, 8.5–10 mm. long, ± 2 mm. broad.. Lip decurved, tripartite from a basal undivided part up to 2 mm. long; middle lobe linear, 7–10 mm. long, scarcely 1 mm. broad; side lobes lanceolate-ligulate, tapering towards the apex, about equalling the middle lobe and rather broader..
