Characteristics

Lip reflexed, lying ± parallel to ovary, 3-lobed to c. 1 mm from base, all lobes fleshy, linear, somewhat papillose; mid-lobe 11 × 0.5 mm, obtuse; side lobes 8 mm long, slightly narrower than mid-lobe, acute; spur 25–28 mm long, ± parallel to pedicel and ovary, slender, the apical 5 mm thickened and slightly bent up.

Leaves numerous, the lower 10–12 clustered near stem base, up to 8 cm long and 5–8 mm wide, tubular with a sheathing base c. 4 mm wide, the bases overlapping; the c. 6 uppermost leaves bract-like, appressed to stem, 7–20 × 4–8 mm, lanceolate or ovate, acuminate.
Petals 2-lobed almost to the base; upper lobe erect, c. 5 × 0.2 mm, almost filiform; lower lobes spreading, c. 12 × 2.5–3 mm, curved lanceolate, long acute, slightly papillose at base.
Inflorescence slightly shorter than pedicel and ovary, 5–7 × 4–5 cm, fairly laxly 6–9-flowered; bracts 12–13 × 4 mm, lanceolate, acute, the margins erose.
Stigmatic arms c. 3 mm long, distinctly shorter than anther canals, rather stout, the tips truncate and slightly upturned.
Sepals reflexed; dorsal sepal 5 × 2 mm, oblong; lateral sepals 8–9 × 3–4 mm, oblique with a lateral apiculum.
Anther 1.5 mm high; canals and side lobes of rostellum 3.5–4 mm long, porrect, upcurved.
Erect terrestrial herb 18–20 cm tall; roots not seen.
Pedicel and ovary arched, 15 mm long.
Flowers spreading, pale green.
