Characteristics

Plant 80-180 cm tall. Basal leaves 2-4; lamina flat, 2-3.5 mm wide. Inflorescence paniculate, narrow and dense; flowers grouped 2-4 together, well distributed along main branches; bracteoles opaque, blackish or brownish green in centre, the venation obscure abaxially, the margins gradually differentiated, similarly coloured or whitish, membranous; upper bracteole acute, equalling or exceeding perianth. Flowers 9-11 mm long, predominantly green or yellow, partly blackish. Sepals slightly shorter than or almost as long as petals. Stamens equal; anthers versatile, borne at c. middle of petals, 2.7-3.3 mm long. Style at anthesis reaching middle or upper part of anthers.
