Large erect shrub or small tree, glabrous except for silky hairs on very young shoots and lvs. Shoots angular. Lvs sessile to shortly petiolate, flattened, 60-110 × 5-15 mm, narrowly elliptic-oblong or narrow-elliptic, entire, coriaceous; base attenuate; apex acute, not spiny. Fls in fascicles of up to c. 20. Pedicels 3-7 mm long. Perianth white, < pedicel; limb curled back against tube. Ovary sessile; style glabrous; stigma cone large, oblique. Fr. 2-2.7 × 1.3-1.6 cm, tuberculate; beak curved. Seed 15-20 × 5-7 mm (including wing), black; wing extending down 1 side.
Shrub or small tree, 2.5-5.5 m high, shoots silky when young, glabrous later. Leaves entire, linear to lanceolate, 50-100 x 15-20 mm, coriaceous, dark green, glabrous, young leaves reddish. Flowers in dense, axillary clusters, pedicellate, fragrant, white. Flowering time Sept., Oct. Fruit a hard, woody follicle, grey with dark warts, opening into 2 valves.

The fruit is a hard woody follicle. It is 2-3 cm long by 1-2 cm wide. The fruit are silvery grey with a lumpy surface. There are 2 winged seeds.
It has Eucalyptus-like linear-elliptic leaves, 7-12 × 0.6-1.3 cm., clusters of small cream or yellow flowers in the leaf-axils and warty woody fruits with a short blunt beak.
