Characteristics

Bulb ellipsoid-ovoid, 26–43 × 15–27 mm, sometimes with blackish tunic. Leaves 24–52 cm × 4–8 mm, mature plants without blackish, shriveled foliage at base of scape; blade grayish green. Scape 47–87 cm, rarely branched, 2–4 mm thick at base. Inflorescences: terminal raceme (5–)8–16(–32) cm; flowers (10–)25–30(–40) per 10 cm of raceme. Flowers: tepals yellowish white with pale yellowish or purplish central vein, oblong-lanceolate, 8–12 × 2 mm; stamens seldom exposed at anthesis; filaments 5–7 mm; anthers pale yellowish. Capsules ellipsoid to obovoid-ellipsoid, 9–11 × 6–8 mm. Seeds dark grayish green, sometimes yellowish brown to black, 4–5 mm.
