Leafy stem simple, up to 6.5 cm tall including the leaves, up to 5 cm diam., not proliferous. Leaves numerous, the young erect, incurved, tender, the old ascending, somewhat spreading, little incurved, about 50 mm long, 8 mm broad, up to 3 mm thick, oblong-lanceolate, light green; upper surface flat, slightly rounded, pellucid near the apex, with 3-4 brownish longitudinal lines, smooth, yellow-white from the middle of the leaf to base, green near the apex; lower surface rounded grey-green, yellow to white at the base of the leaves, smooth with 3-4 brownish longitudinal lines; keel one in the upper third, with 1 mm long teeth; margins acute, with 1 mm long pellucid teeth; end-awn 2 mm long, brown, denticulate. Inflorescence about 40-43 cm tall; peduncle simple, terete, about 3 mm diam., up to 15 cm long, bracteate; sterile bracts membranous, ovate, acuminate; raceme about 25 cm long, lax, with about 36 flowers and buds spirally arranged, 16 opening simultaneously; floral bracts membranous, 6 mm long, longer than the pedicels, deltoid, acute, keeled with fine reddish veins, clasping the pedicels; pedicels 2 mm long, 1 mm diam., erect; perianth tube brownish white, 14 mm long, compressed at the base, the cylindrical triangular base 4 mm across, constricted to 3 mm above, slightly curved; posterior segments obtuse, recurved, face colour white; stamens 6 and 7 mm long; ovary 4 mm long, 1.5 mm diam., green., style 1 mm long, white, capitate.
