Corolla (5)7–8 mm. long, white with orange throat; tube slender, glabrous; lobes about 1 mm. long, oblong to rounded.
Stems erect, somewhat woody especially at the base, branched; branches shortly pubescent to subglabrous, many-leaved.
Leaves (10)20–35(40) x 0.2–0.5 mm., narrowly linear, subglabrous, entire, occasionally with smaller leaves in axils.
Calyx 2.5–3 mm. long, shorter than bracts, ovate-oblong, emarginate, obtuse with 2 slender, parallel nerves.
Bracts (2.75)3–4(4.5) x (1.25)1.5–2 mm., ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous, margins hyaline.
Capsule 3–4 mm. long, c. 1.25 mm. broadly cylindric-ovoid.
Annual herb, 20–90 cm. tall.
