Characteristics

Leaf blades drying black above and usually yellow-green beneath or at least ± pale, 1–3.3 x 0.3–1.2 cm., narrowly ovate-elliptic, acute at the apex, cuneate at the base, glabrous or with few scattered hairs on midrib beneath; petiole about 1 mm. long or ± obsolete; stipule sheath pubescent, 1 mm. long with 3–5 fimbriae up to 5 mm. long.
