Leaves sessile, (ob-)lanceolate, those on the lower part of the stem large, those on the distal half of the stem rapidly changing to short and more narrow, 4–20 cm long, 0.4–6 cm wide, base clasping, margins entire, apex abruptly mucronate, subglabrous with some hairs on the margins, with impressed glands.. Capitula 6–8 mm long, homogamous, in dense subglobose glomerules forming tight to lax leafy secondary corymbs; stalks of individual capitula 1–5 mm long; phyllaries yellow, ovate to lanceolate, 2–6 mm long, acute, glabrous or (the outermost) sparsely hairy; receptacle fimbriate.. Florets 13–19, all hermaphrodite, tube cylindric or narrowly infundibuliform, 2.8–3.2 mm long, lobes 0.7–0.8 mm long, glandular, anthers 1.9–2 mm long, style 3.3–4 mm long..
