Leaves green above, white-felted beneath, sessile, (ob-)lanceolate to linear, 1–4.5(–5.5) cm long, 0.1–0.9 cm wide, base slightly clasping, apex obtuse or acute and mucronate, densely glandular above and often slightly pubescent, white-tomentose beneath, the distal leaves sometimes only scabridulous-glandular on both surfaces.. Capitula 9–17 mm long, heterogamous, in terminal corymbose few-headed cymes; stalks of individual capitula 3–12 mm long, white-pubescent; phyllaries yellow or (outermost) tinged brown, multiseriate, ovate to lanceolate, 3–10 mm long, acute, glabrous; receptacle honeycombed..
