Leaves: blade linear or lingulate, 5-10(-13) x 0.75-1.00(-4.00) mm, apex obtuse, margins revolute, both surfaces white-woolly. Heads discoid, cylindric, ± 4 x 2 mm, in small glomerules at branch tips, closely surrounded by leaves. Involucral bracts in ± 6 series, outermost short, webbed to surrounding leaves with wool, inner subequal, erect, tips subacute to obtuse, often erose, opaque white, rarely buff-coloured or pinkish, not radiating, stereome divided. Receptacle epaleate, tuberculate. Flowers: disc florets only, 8-14; corolla narrowly funnel-shaped, yellow, sometimes tipped pink; Aug.-Feb. Fruit with cypsela? (and ovary) hairy or glabrous. Pappus of many barbellate bristles, bases with patent cilia not cohering.
