Capitula 10–12 mm long, heterogamous, in dense almost sessile clusters of 2–3 often subtended by a few closely set leaves, these clusters solitary or in turn united into leafy corymbs; stalks of individual capitula up to 2 mm long; phyllaries silvery white, multiseriate, ovate to lanceolate, 3–10 mm long, margins entire or dentate, acute, glabrous or hairy and glandular on the stereome; receptacle honeycombed.. Florets yellow, many (several hundred); outer florets many (Lisowski states up to 265), tube filiform from a slightly widened base, 2.5–2.7 mm long, lobes ± 0.2 mm long, style 2.7–3 mm long; inner florets many (Lisowski states 130), tube cylindrical, 2.3–3 mm long, lobes 0.3–0.4 mm long and glandular, anthers 1.4–1.5 mm long, style 2.4 mm long..
