Characteristics

Perennial herb to 0.8 m high or shrub, somewhat scandent or scrambling, the branches up to 5 m high; much branched, the branches tomentellous.. Leaves slightly discolorous, ovate or lanceolate, subsessile or with a petiole to 5 mm long, lamina 1–5 cm long, 0.3–2.5 cm wide, base cuneate, margins serrulate to crenulate, apex acute or short-acuminate, sparsely arachnoid-pubescent above, pale tomentose beneath.. Capitula 3.5–4.5 mm long, heterogamous, many united in dense subglobose cymes, these terminal and solitary or several together in lax leafy corymbs; stalks of individual capitula absent or nearly so; phyllaries yellow, 4–6-seriate, ovate to lanceolate, 2.5–4.2 mm long, obtuse or rounded, the outermost with a small patch of pubescence and glands at the base; receptacle fimbriae to 1 mm long.. Florets yellow or orange, 7–13; outer florets 0–3, tube narrowly infundibuliform, 2–2.2 mm long, lobes 0.4–0.5 mm long, style 2.8–3 mm long; inner florets 6–13, tube cylindric, 2–2.8 mm long, lobes 0.5–0.6 mm long, glandular, anthers 1.5–1.6 mm long, style 3.3–3.6 mm long..
