Heliotropium tubulosum E.Mey. ex Dc.

Whole plant densely hirsute, 5 in. or more high; stem terete, up to 3 lin. diam.; leaves lanceolate, acuminate at both ends, up to 11/4 in. by 5 lin.; petiole up to 6 lin. long; inflorescence a terminal cymose panicle; peduncles up to 1 in. long; cymes densely many-flowered, up to 3 in. long; calyx 3 lin. long, divided nearly halfway down into 5 linear obtuse lobes; corolla infundibuliform; tube slightly longer than the calyx; lobes broad, undulate; stamens inserted about halfway up the corolla-tube; anthers oblong, 1 lin. long, obtuse at both ends; ovary minute; style 1 1/4 lin. long, tapering towards both ends from a swollen disc about its middle, with numerous slightly reflexed hairs in its lower half; nutlets plano-convex, pubescent on the back.
