Characteristics

Leaves leathery, acuminate, to 50 cm long and 5.5 cm wide. Scapes terete, leafy, usually exceeding leaves, to 1.5 m long. Panicle to 65 cm long, glabrous or sparsely woolly; bracteoles lanceolate, c. 10 mm long. Perianth pale or deep pink; outer tepals ovate-oblong, 8 mm long; inner tepals ovate, 4-5 mm long, free. Stamen c. 4.5 mm long; filament basally adnate to abaxial tepal only; anther locules c. 3 mm long. Ovary 2 mm long, glabrous; style slender, 3.5-4.5 mm long. Capsule oblong-ovoid, 5-7 mm long, glabrous. Seeds 4-5 mm long, pale straw-yellow.
