Characteristics

Dwarf shrub, 0.15-2.00 m high; ± virgately branched; glandular or glabrous. Leaves cuneate-obovate, inciso-dentate or subpinnatifid, with obtuse lobes. Stipules small. Inflorescences in panicles with each peduncle 2-flowered and ± 14 mm long; pedicels sparsely hairy with glandular and longish, white, simple hairs. Flowers 15 mm long, orange-red. Calyx obconic, deeply cleft, sparsely glandular with lobe margins of white stellate and simple hairs. Petals 4-5x as long as calyx, spreading, obovate. Flowering time Sept.-May.

Erect, rounded shrub, up to ± 1 m tall. Leaves oblong-cunetae, coarsely lobed or toothed. Flowers showy, ± covering entire shrub, 2 at each branch tip and in upper axils, on slender pedicels, pendulous, widely funnel-shaped below but widening to a ± outspread divided rim, scarlet. Capsule hornless.
